i am a evacuee from beaumont texas, i came to dallas and recently looked on one of their websites where a volunteer said that rita was not bad and we were not in desperate need of food or water.I was hurt, mad and appaled. Thanks to the pictures on this website it shows that hurricane rita was bad and did cause major damage not only to places and homes but to our feelings to. I've lived in beaumont my whole life and love it there so it breaks my heart to see all its beauty taken away, then for someone to make a comment like that is udderly unnecessary. I dont blame any one for his comment but him.so i really appreciate all the people who stand behind me!

I live in Terrebonne Parish. I also have a home and family in Calcasieau, Beauregard and Vernon Parishes. I would like to say that since Hurr. Rita, I have been trying to find ways to apply for programs online and it's been very difficult. Everybody wants you to drive or call their offices. Many families either don't have phones or are low on gas. Why can't we come up with a better online system to make this process more user friendly. I tried to register with FEMA.gov and it wasn't working. Thank you

My wife went to Little Rock from La Porte, TX and when the storm looked like it was going to go straight up through east Texas and Arkansas, she left for Central PA.

Unimaginable heights terrify us to the core.
Man, woman, child it holds no discrimination,
Leaving behind utter chaos and mass devastation.

How long must we endure this horror.
Lives lost, businesses perished and wrecked homes,
Stench of doom, still growing in loom.
What can we do in times like this,
Should we just stand by and not assist?
