Video review of the Amazon Kindle

Video review of the Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device by Orlando Sentinel Technology Columnist Etan Horowitz. The new Kindle (Kindle II) is rumored to be released next week.

  • Today, we ran across this nice long article on the history of one of our favorite topics - ebooks at ars technica by John Siracusa: "The once and future e-book: on reading in the digital age - A veteran of a former turning of the e-book wheel looks at the past, present, and future of reading books on things that are not books...[read more]
  • Yes, we are big fans of books and e-books from the Palm eReader to the Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device.
We enjoy the convenience of an e-reader such as the Kindle. All of the books we are reading are always available at the touch of a button plus all the classics we keep meaning to read are also just a click away. Everywhere we take our Kindle, people stare and then just ask - "What kind of device is that? It looks so cool!" Then we go through the whole demo of the Amazon Kindle and they say - I know what I'm asking for my birthday. The Amazon Kindle looks so different than the everyday MP3 players and the Blackberries and Smart Phones with the clear e-ink screen that is so easy to read.

  • This video review of the Kindle 2 sums up my view of the Kindle, even though we just have the original Kindle. We really, really love our Kindle! All our books in one place. Reading on the Kindle is a very easy, pleasurable experience that we find very relaxing.

Another promotional video about the "Nook" from Barnes and Noble

  • Official web site of the "Nook" but the web site just redirects you to Barnes and Noble's web site's Nook section. We wish that there was a separate Nook web site with a vibrant community.
  • For one of the online wrap-up of the "Nook" news coverage was at Tech Crunch.
  • Engadget also has some great coverage of the Nook.
  • We personally are Kindle users and are going to find it hard to switch to another eReader.
